La Tana dell'Istrice (The
Porcupine's lair) originated in the countryside gentlemen and wine
producer Sergio Mottura's decision to transform his family home in
a small, welcoming inn.
Here guests may enjoy the deep quiet of a medieval village surrounded
by verdant fields and vineyards and explore the neighbouring area
and sites of great fame and interests: Orvieto, Viterbo, the famous
Bomarzo Monster's Park, but many other hidden treasures are handy
and worth to be discovered.

Together with the unique "italian touch", you will experience
being friendly hosted in a charming countryside residence; meals will
be shared with the owners who are ideal guides to lead you among the
rich heritage of local traditions.
If your passion if food, watch
our cooks at work or try to prepare some of our traditional dishes.
Our guests may also witness the production cycle of the wine estate
and above all, sample its products - particularly a wide selection
of fine wines -but also the extravirgin olive oil, the healthy fruit
juices, jellies and jams and many other products, all from our own
organic production.
During the opening season then, you can have a lovely rest after having
discovered the local gems, sipping some good wine under the canopy
of the Porcupine's Tavern; our wine bar next door.
